HAWAIIAN HORN

Abundant on algae on shallow reefs and tidepools.  Whorls slightly inflated with strong beaded spirals aligned to form axial ribs, suture impressed, scattered varices, aperture 1/3 length of shell, color from white to dark brown, often with spirals of contrasting color.  Attains 0.3 inch, 6 mm.  Endemic to Hawaii.  Reported in Kay, 1979 as Bittium zebrumCerithium zebrum is comparatively slender.
