TURRETED HORN
| Common on algal mat of shallow
reefs and tidepools. Turreted-angular with fine granular spirals, and one
coarse spiral of conical nodules, dark area on
posterior body whorl. Attains 0.5 inch, 12 mm.
Red Sea to Japan, Hawaii, and the Tuamotus, introduced to the Mediterranean.
Occurs with and more slender than Cerithium
atromarginatum. |
